Charles Fipke
Chairman of the Board

Mr Fipke received an honours degree in Geology from the University of British Columbia in 1970 and was awarded an honourary Doctorate of Technology from Okanagan University College. He worked as an exploration and research geologist for Kennicott Copper in New Guinea, Samedan Minerals in Australia, Johannesburg Consolidated Investments (‘JCI’), in South Africa and Cominco in Canada and Brazil.

In 1977 he founded CF Mineral Research, which is amongst the leading heavy mineral and diamond exploration research laboratories in the world. For the past 40 years he has been involved in heavy mineral exploration projects for diamonds as well as base and precious metals worldwide. He founded Dia-Met Minerals Ltd. in 1984 and Cantex Mine Development Corporation in 1996. As Chairman of both companies, he has led his teams using his patented and proprietary heavy mineral technologies to discover the Ekati Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories as well as three large copper-nickel-platinum deposits and two significant gold deposits in Yemen. Dr. Fipke has been the author and co-author of several publications on diamond exploration worldwide including the first publication on Diamond Exploration published by the Geological Survey of Canada.

Chad Ulansky (B.Sc.)

Mr. Ulansky is the President and a Director of the Corporation. He has over 25 years of exploration experience. As a graduate of the University of Cape Town, Mr. Ulansky has put his geology degree to use leading and managing exploration programs worldwide, from the arctic barren lands to African deserts and most places in between. He began his career working for Dia Met Minerals Ltd., on the project which yielded the Ekati diamond mine.

Mr. Ulansky is also a director of Kodiak Copper Corp. (TSXV).

Vernon Frolick
Director

Mr. Frolick is a graduate of the University of Windsor School of Law, Windsor, Ontario and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1976 and to the BC Bar in 1982. Currently he is crown Counsel in Penticton for the Attorney General of British Columbia.

Mr. Frolick is also an accomplished writer and is the author of Descent into Madness and Fire into Ice, the story of the founder of the Ekati Diamond Mine. 

Jason Granger (CPA)
Director

Mr Granger is the Chief Operating Officer of Kel-Ex Development Ltd., which is part of a privately owned group of companies based in Kelowna, BC.  He has held this position since February of 2020.

Jason has over 20 years of experience in capital markets, corporate finance and accounting in a range of sectors including industrials and natural resources. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and subsequently worked with BMO Capital Markets in equity research covering Transportation and Industrials. Jason moved on to work in corporate development, investor relations and transaction diligence roles for Newalta (oilfield services), Diversified Royalty Corp., and Ernst & Young, before joining Kel-ex Development.

Ms. MacDonald is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and has over 25 years experience in the Finance Industry including Investment Banking and Management, Finance, and Corporate Relations for public mining companies.

Jennifer Irons (CPA)
Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Irons was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Cantex Mine Development Corp in October 2013.  She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and began her accounting career with KPMG in 2003. Prior to joining Cantex, Ms. Irons held the position of Manager with a Kelowna based accounting firm where she served both individual and corporate clients.
